Scot Guignion The principal singer-songwriter of Mindweiser, Scot is a proud Albertan with many years of performance experience in the Edmonton music scene. Inspired by such artists as Neil Young, Tom Petty, the Tragically Hip and many others, his creative rhythm guitar and thoughtful lyrics form the core around which the rest of the band is built. Cristian Cordeiro Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, this self-described "old-school" guitar player and football fanatic brings his many years of musical study to bear as the lead guitarist of Mindweiser. Having been initially inspired by Slash, he now cites such influences as Paul Gilbert, Andy Timmons, Steve Vai, as well as classical masters Niccolo Paganini and Johann Sebastian Bach. His complex, highly technical style bears the unmistakably aggressive sheen of metal, but at the same time expresses a melodic beauty that blends seamlessly with the band's classic folk rock style. Ryan Coates This former British Columbian has made Edmonton his home for a number of years. A born instrumentalist and self-taught bassist, Ryan uses his warm, yet punchy fingerstyle to both round out and tie together the rhythm and melody of the band, while inserting quirky improvised parts that add a different creative dimension to the music. Colin Wiens Another of Alberta's native sons, Colin is the newest member of Mindweiser and is excited to contribute his impressive skills to the growing success of the band. A self-taught drummer whose abilities suggest more than his six years of experience playing in various bands, this golfer and cook describes his own style as a cross between Travis Barker and Stewart Copeland. His excellent sense of rhythm and timing make him an essential and much-welcomed bandmate.
